 Maine Veterinary Medical Center (MVMC) is currently seeking a full time Client Specialist to support our office in Scarborough, ME.

This position partners with our current Client Specialist team to help the flow of appointments in our busy emergency and specialty veterinary practice. Additionally, this position is a liaison between the front desk, clients and various departments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing day-to-day client services in the front office and support of staff throughout the hospital.
  • Direct on-the-job training to develop employee skill sets.
  • Making decisions on behalf of the department utilizing good judgment, which demonstrates the best interest of the hospital and the clients.
  • Handling communication of financial information to clients and doctors.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, effective client relations and interpersonal skills, along with experience solving problems and communicating well with a diverse staff.

 Experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, multi-tasking skills and Avimark software experience is preferred.

Licensed Veterinary Technician – 11.18.2016

The role of the Licensed Veterinary Technician is to care for our patients and to facilitate their speedy recovery. Additionally, the technician is the primary nurse in the intensive care unit in our busy multi-specialty hospital as well as the triage nurse to take histories, review treatment plans and execute patient diagnostics, etc.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Updating owners on progress and continued care of patients; via phone or face to face
  • Creating and maintaining treatments sheets
  • Calculating and administering medications (IV, IM, SQ, PO)
  • Place and maintain catheters (intravenous and urinary)
  • Appropriately charge and record all treatments preformed
  • Work directly with the DVM to execute patient treatment and patient goals.
  • Ability to identify patient needs and communicate that to the DVM
  • Keeping a clean and organized area
  • Preform radiographs, run bloodwork, and urinalysis

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a Veterinary Hospital

The Human Resources Manager provides support for a wide variety human resources activities including
employee relations, recruiting, and administration of benefits. The main responsibility of the Human Resources Manager is to advise company leaders in all HR practices, to provide information to employees about regulations and policies, and to provide general support to the organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate the entire recruitment process from creating job postings to interviewing candidates.

MVMC is currently looking for an experienced, intrinsically motivated, Licensed Veterinary Technician to fill the role of Technician Supervisor.  This person will manage the flow of our busy Emergency and Specialty Technicians.  The ideal candidate will have multiple years of experience in an Emergency and Specialty Veterinary practice.  This person will have a vast knowledge of various specialties, including but not limited to:  Emergency and Critical Care, Neurology, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Rehab and Oncology. 

The Technical Supervisor will manage the flow on the hospital floor Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00am-7:00pm.  This schedule will allow the Technician Supervisor to have interactions with most Technicians on all shifts.  They will be an active member on the floor during their shift, stepping in where needed, providing direction for the Technical Staff and directly facilitating all Technical Staff members’ breaks.  The Technician Supervisor will also be the first line of defense for managing all call in’s and call out’s for the Technical Staff.  This individual will also be directly involved in the hiring process, technical staff evaluations and monthly technician meetings.
